5 Awesome Android Only Apps
Face it. These are the apps that you'll show off to your iOS-using buddy and probably make them feel bad for buying an iOS device and the easiest way to start a gadget-cist (think racist) war. Why? because 4 out of 5 apps gives the ability to customize the way interact with your phone.
Aviate (Free, Beta, Invite only)
Cover (Beta, Invite only)
Very much like the above but for your lockscreen instead. Replaces your current boring lockscreen, when you're at work, it will show work related apps on your lockscreen for faster access. Same goes for when you're at home and while you're driving. Haven't tried this app yet, but I think I'll see full use of this while driving. No need to fumble to unlock your screen drawing patterns/passwords because your navigation app will be there at your lockscreen.
Floating Toucher (Free, Paid version unlocks more functions)
Think iOS assistive touch. Add that with the ability to clear cached memory and customization. Makes no sense? You must be using a Windows phone then (or any other platforms). It is a button that floats on your screen, and by default it contains all the most commonly used apps. Don't like their commonly used apps? Add your own most used apps inside, add 2 more pages, change the colour of the layout and DIY the buttons!
Ingress (Free)
This is the game designed solely for salespeople! Talk about commuting around, capturing 'portals' around you or go extreme. Drive around the country doing it and meeting new people along the way. You need to physically be there or close to capture these points and you need to join either Enlightened or Resistance to start capturing portals.
SwiftKey ($3.68, it's worth it, don't be a cheapskate)
There's a lot of great keyboards in the Play Store, but this wins because of overall awesome simple experience. The predictive is accurate and it can learn words from your social medias platform too. Once you start swiping instead of tapping, you'll notice that you're more efficient (with keystrokes) and it looks more elegant that way too.
