Hacked Androids
If you like installing apps outside of the Google Play Store (meaning you check the box that says 'Allow Installation of apps from unknown sources') then you're at risk of a special hack that can access apps in your phone and all the data it collects. Its capabilities can also extend to taking control of your phone. Uncheck it!!

My Final Google Reader Replacement: Digg Reader
I was using Feedly for a while, and I hate how it's more Reddit than it is Google Reader. Yes I like to see things nicely laid out with proper fonts. So my final replacement is Digg Reader. It's closest to Google Reader, in my opinion.

iOS7 Capable of Shooting Slow Motion Videos
So the first thing people do when given the beta to a new OS update is tear it apart and see how it ticks. Hackers found out the iOS7 is capable of shooting videos in slow motion up to 120 frames per second. Only problem is, the current camera on the i5 cannot handle it yet. But think of the possibilities! The best S update yet!

Mega App Is On Android
I really don't know anyone using Kim Dotcom's Mega. Mainly because we don't know if it would be closed down anytime. What is cool about this news is that he decided to develop for Android first, and then iOS and other platforms later. That's gotta count for something for Android users.

Instagram Goes Landscape
Seriously? Why? The cool thing about shooting and posting on Instagram is classic square format. Yeah I know some photos look better in landscape, but come on. This whole new format is killing the awesomeness of Instagram!

Take The Diagon Alley Virtual Tour
Dear muggles: You can now take a virtual tour around Diagon Alley via Google Maps Street View. Not just the alley, you can also go into shops! Of course there are green screens, but that's no problem. Come on, Google. Give us the Street View of the NCC-1701!

Amazon Planning Color E-Ink?
So Amazon bought the E-Ink producing company under Samsung, and they said they're bringing out comics to e-readers. Imagine reading your favorite Walking Dead comic using your colored e-ink reader at the beach. Blood is red again!

I'm not a comic book fan, but I know many who'd exchange their kidneys for one of those.

False Advertising by Lazada
I happened to bump into this very interesting advertisement by Lazada, a local online retail store, of the product shown in the picture above here. The first thing that caught my attention is that this phone on the photo is running Ubuntu! Then after Googling the actual phone I found that the Lenovo Ideaphone A390, which was what the advertisement was all about, is an Android phone.

Then I rummaged through the comments and found many people complaining that this wasn't the first time Lazada has used dirty tricks like this to attract website visits. Even if it's not illegal, it's unethical. Consumers be warned: do extensive research on everything you buy from Lazada before making a purchase. You never know what else might be falsified in there.

Google Hangs Latitude
Google Latitude is an app that pings your location on Google Map using cell towers or GPS. And they've just announced that they're going to kill the app soon. Before you go ballistic on Google's constant move to kill services, understand also that this kind of service is already default in Google Maps and Google+. So I don't see us losing anything by letting Latitude go.

Most of us wouldn't have known of its existence before today!
