Jelly Bean updates again. Seems they're going to spot better power management and wearable-device ready. But then it will take another year for it to come to non-Nexus devices. As long as it's not Key Lime Pie, I don't really care.
It's still pretty early to tell, but Cydia works well for iPhones because iOS is generally very closed and restricted. But with the Android it will just be another app that enables Superuser. It would only catch our attentions if the Substrate can do what others can't.
It's still in early stage testing, and is pretty buggy and unstable. I don't think it can cause hardbricks, but it could completely wipe out all data.
It tells pretty obviously that Google has moved from a search engine company to hardware and software makers. I think this move makes sense going horizontal; better to develop stuff using your own consumer data than just selling them to other companies. Everything else is pretty cool, with focus moving towards wearable devices and Now.
Tumblr alternative. Tumblr cool. Tumblr hipster. But Tumblr no money. Tumblr not know how to make money. Tumblr needs US$ 1 Billion from Yahoo.
If Yahoo buys Tumblr, hip people will leave. The market will change and they will have different competitors, which could be Facebook and Google+. But why should Tumblr change anything even after Yahoo's acquisition? The answer is Profits. Who spends US$ 1 Billion and not want it to make at least ten times the cost?
There's an App for Placebo
They're not kidding when they said there's an app for everything. Placeboeffect.com is raising funds at Indiegogo to develop an app that helps people by giving them a digital placebo effect. I know, this sounds weird all over. But if it comes out, I'll try it out.
