The Weekly: 04 April 2013
Highlights
WhatsApp is still WhatsApp, Fruity Loops for Android Tablets, EA worst company in America, Kinetic Phone Charger, App to shoot photo Lytro Style, Kik Messenger takes it to another level, Firefox OS out
Whatsapp not becoming Google
Whatsapp not becoming Google
Good news for consumers. Because competition is good! As much as I love Google, I don't like companies buying over anything that moves just because they have the money. Go make your own WhatsApp, Google!
FL Studio comes to Android
"They call themselves producers, the Fruity-Loopin' Losers. Sample CD choosers. And then you push PLAY!" Get it? Play?!
Check this sample video out:
Let's see if Brennan Heart can bring down Defqon.1 with a tablet.
EA Worst Company in America
Well although I wouldn't go the distance by calling it the worst company ever, but they have been able to license and subsequently destroy almost every single franchise. That counts.
InfinityCell: Kinetic Charger for Phones
Nothing else to say about it really, except it's about time something like this comes along to solve our mobile device battery problems.
FocusTwist Does The Lytro, Firmware-Style
Remember Lytro Cameras? They're able to shoot photos that will allow you to refocus anytime after. This app can do that too! It basically takes an array of shots at different focus points, then compiling them into one. It will allow you to refocus your photo at any time after the shot, just like the Lytro.. Except very much cheaper than the Lytro.
I don't have an iPhone but for you fellas who do, buy and try it out!
Kik: The New Messenger for All
We know what makes a good messenger is if we have friends using it. Kik has cards to share memes, YouTube videos and sketches which I think will take messaging to a different level. I'm just gonna try it out and see what happens.
Mozilla Firefox OS
I figure this would be different from the one they announced to be built with Samsung. They are called Keon and Peak, and Mozilla said they're lower-range devices that will be optimized on html5. This could be the furthest an OS maker is going into html5, which is good.
